You are what you eat....

I need to change my daughter's diet. Or I'm in labor and don't know it!

My last two posts may give a brief description of the nonsense of the weekend. Hurry to Utah to check out violins. Bring two of them home to try. But before we could get home the car decides to have a few hiccups. Leaving us stranded while my jack-of-all-trade hubby does repairs. Did enjoy a visit with my oldest son and family.

Got the daughter to Logan to the music festival she was participating in. Whew! We are feeling pretty good about being able to accomplish so much considering the circumstances.
Then we receive a midnight phone call from the daughter at the music festival..."uh, mom, I forgot my violin bow in the other violin case".......

I'm doing Lamaze breathing by now because I remember say to her (in my sweetest patient mommy voice) now dear do you have EVERYTHING? I wouldn't have been so irritated and having to resort to do Lamaze breathing if she hadn't just pulled a double-eye rollover on me when I asked! (I hate those)
Next day ANOTHER phone call..."mom, guess who left her orchestra dress at home?" (Home being Idaho while we're still stranded in Utah) Are ya kiddin' me???Seriously????

(More Lamaze breathing here... hee hee hee hoo) I'm past the point of tired and cranky and I want to be home, this was supposed to be a flying trip and back in the same day! Not sure what she did about the dress thing, I'm sure the orchestra and choir teachers thinks she's the biggest ditz! This is a normally well rounded, well organized, plans thought out type of girl. WHAT IS GOING ON????

I'm very afraid. She graduates in less than a month. She's going out into the big wide world.

Oh, and then she decides after playing the two violins that we brought home for her to try that she doesn't like the tone of either one. We also had two music professors play them. They didn't either. So BACK to Utah yesterday to return them both. BUT she did find a violin that she totally fell in love with from a little music store in our own little hometown. Go figure.
Hee hee hee hoo...hee hee hee hoo....I know that deliverance in nigh........
OK, enough dingdong pictures, she's a doll and I love her more than anything. She's giving me a personal concert on her "mom it's totally awesome" violin. What a doll!

You are a crack-up - Not only did I LOVE your lamaze breathing technique through all the drama but I can TOTALLY relate as I have a daughter the exact same age, graduating in a month who is also doing some unnormally ditzy things lately - "I'll take some of those Ding Dongs thank you very much!!". Ha Ha
So glad it is all sorted out and that you can laugh about it now, or at least blog about it now.
Enjoy your sweet serenade - The baby has been delivered!!!!

Cherie, I just hope that there isn't a placenta waiting!

So what kind of food discribes a young man that will be graduating in a month that doesn't think before he acts and thinks that everything he thinks of will be for fun? Let's think on that one and get back to me.

Love the analogy--especially at 0330 and I get to do this all over again tomorrow.

Funny funny, I still ask in detail to my 30 something kids if they have everything...did you remember your toothbrush, how about the feminine products. It never does end. The only justice is one day we will have alzheimers and they will be doing the same for us in reverse! Ican't wait until I can hide my own Easter eggs.

Oh the eye rollover! I can just see it now! I have been so wondering how things were going! Maybe I should have been praying harder. Sounds like a nightmare to me. Been there and done that kind of thing just not with a violin.
I think that is why we learn Lamaze breathing for birth because we have to do it the rest of their lives!
Glad you are safely home and getting ready for your own personal concert!

Tauna, I saw your adorable blog and just had to check it out. After reading about the "ding-dong's" I am glad I did! :) You are hilarious! Sounds like you had a blast on your adventure.

I love Ding Dongs....but not when they are my kids lol. Too funny that she spaced both the dress and the bow. I'm glad she found a violin she loves...now it seems to me that it's time for mommy to have a nice quiet spa day!

I don't know ---is she like her MOM - ha ha ha ha. I will have to remember in the future to try the Lamaze breathing while I start to panic --when I panic and get stressed I START WITH THE DRY HEAVES. SERIOUSLY. (now there is a story I could write about)
