Travelblog........I'm a bad traveler.

This morning at 12:00 AM we hit the road to head to Phoenix, Arizona. I haven't been to Phoenix for 23 years. I've been excited to go to Phoenix, I'm sick of snow and the freezing, cold wind in Idaho. When we left it was a blizzard. BYE BYE BLIZZARD!

I don't travel much, I rarely go anywhere, I'm OK with that. In fact, traveling really stresses me out. I'm not sure why, I don't like being in the car for long periods of time, my hubby gets tired of hearing me say "are we there yet?" But I have been looking forward to this trip. I need sunlight and warmth. It's been months since I've had either.

So, ya know when you go somewhere and you fix you up a bag? You are going to be in the car for 15+ hours, it's THE bag! Crafts, books, treats...it's like a quiet book only better. I prepared the best bag. Brand new Readers Digest, Annette Lyons book, everyone has been raving about it, so I bought it and used great restraint by NOT opening it yet, some needle work, a brand new itouch to figure out on the way. SO excited to get into my BAG. We drove all night and reached past Provo and stopped, I figured I'd break out THE BAG and start reading now that there was daylight. NO BAG! "Uhm honey, did you pack my BAG?" Nope, nada, zilch, zip...no BAG! I'm devastated! Now we might have to have a conversation or something. I was really looking forward to playing in the ultimate of BAGS! Sniffle.

We stop near the Grand Canyon later in the day to stretch. I thought I would take some pictures to help get myself out of the deep depression of not having THE BAG. Uhm, yup you guessed it. No camera! I'm a very bad traveler.

I'll be glad to get home to my BAG and camera. But in the meantime I'm enjoying 84 degree weather! Looking at a lemon tree! I wish I could take a picture to prove it.

I hate mornings, that's why we left at midnight...I hadn't been to bed yet. I AM enjoying the warmth...I don't think I've been warm for months. I hope to work on the tan thing tomorrow...after some serious sleep!

All hail the warmth and sun of Phoenix! We are all there with you in spirit - thanks for making the trip! I'm still in Idaho.
That truly is a bummer you forgot the bag - Yikes! For me the camera would have been the worst. Maybe you can get a disposable.

So I have a question. Did you go to the North side or the South side of the Grand Canyon. I was just checking out the road for the North side yesterday and they said it was closed until May 15th so I was just curious if maybe by some chance it was actually open now.

So glad to hear that we aren't the only ones that leave at 0000 something in the morning on road trips. I knew there was a reason you and I get along so well. Not just because we are nurses, but because we need bags pack full of stuff.

sorry to hear that hubby forgot to pack your goodie bag but that is the one thing my husband has a hard time with is me and my bags.

Enjoy Phoenix, enjoy conference. Can't wait to share my feelings and thoughts with you.

Oh what a bummer!!! We went to Utah a few weeks ago and about Pocatello Dale told me he had left my luggage sitting in the garage. . .He was just trying to wig me out. . .I was already to turn around and go home, it was a big tease though!!! I feel your pain. . .try and have fun!
