And he is released...

For over 10 years my better half has served in a bishopric or on the High Council and lastly as our Bishop. He was released yesterday {sniffle} Pretty tender hearts right now. He's loved serving but is happy to serve anywhere.
So now I get to sit with him!

I'm probably going to have to stuff my church bag with treats to keep him reverent.
I love you honey! You did a great job.

I know that feeling well. It's sure a change but a good and necessary one :)
Treats are not such a bad thing. I always carry them.

So who is the new Bishopric??

Howard was my favorite bishop I've ever had (are we supposed to have favorites?) He is such a caring and kind person. We really miss you guys! Yeah for you to be able to sit by him again!

Howard is an amazing man and you are a wonderful woman...how does that saying go...Behind every great Bishop is a wonderful wife"!

YAY that you get to sit with your hubby now!! I know some of my most treasured time each week is sitting together in Sacrament meeting and holding hands, or tickling each others backs and just having someone there that when you feel the spirit you can give them a "squeeze" or a "wink" and know you are both enjoying the meeting the same! (and yes, plop gum, or candy in your mouths during the meeting as well).

One of these days, I need to come by and bring you a treat and "introduce myself" and actually talk to you in real life! It was FUN to hear how much Cherie enjoyed meeting you.

Hope your Monday is a Wonderful One!!

egan, how i love your blog! let me count the ways: 1) the flowers in your background are the same kind of flowers my mom got me for my birthday each year when i lived at home. 2) the pic of you coming out of an outhouse tells me you are definitely my kind of people. 3) the title of your blog. we spent 3 years in eastern idaho, and the first time i saw your blog name i was instantly transported back to the drive north from pocatello to rexburg where there is a lovely little place which has a wooden sign over their garden that says "the garden of eatin'"...you are home to me without even knowing it. i miss idaho oodles. 4) you are hilarious. i adore your ask-a-nurse posts...especially the flu one from last month...gold! 5) if you're friends with cherie then you are automatically a friend of mine!
thanks for stopping by my little blog abode. you're family now. =)

p.s. congrats on getting to sit by your hunny for now. what a relief it must feel like, though i bet its bittersweet, as i imagine he was a spectacular bishop. =)

This is just like my dad! He's been a bishop, counselor in the stake presidency or the stake president since I was born! When he gets released it'll be a shock! But our bench will be much quieter...thanks for stopping by! Glad my tonsils look good, however if you were to look at my vocal cords that would be a whole other story!

I was thinking about you both on Sunday - thinking how bittersweet your day probably was.

I hope you can keep that man reverent - they get no practice up on that stand - LOL!

What dedication.
I thank you for dropping by my blog. As you can probably tell from there, I'm as crazy as a sprayed roach, but it's more fun t hat way.
Estrogen Extravaganza is a group of 15 bloggers who are all going to spend the weekend together in a cabin in Tennessee. We are very diverse group of ladies and are already laughing ourselves silly about how much fun we are going to have. I, personally, have never done anything like this before, but I'm happy to try it once. If it works out, maybe it will just grow bigger and bigger each year till there are hundreds of us meeting each year. That'd be totally cool. However, we have to get through the first one to see how well it goes.

Mixed emotions with that. I know that having a hubby serve as a bishop brings some great blessings and some great challenges. Stuff that bag full of treats for both of you! You both deserve them!

Those are tough days. I'm sure you will love sitting with him again. (Part of the reason I love traveling with my hubby is we get to sit together ; )

BTW, definitely carry treats. My philosophy is--you never know when you'll get stranded on the drive home.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and especially for leaving a comment.

I feel for you.

Bishops know.. love.. and dedicate their lives to their ward for soo many years.. and I always feel bad when they are released.. because their is no big THANKS... from the Lord maybe one day.. but the hours put into such a calling is so HUGE.. and it can be hard to all of the sudden go from such a huge responsibility to nothing..

I am happy for you! ~ but maybe you shouldn't get TOO comfy. Is the Stake President getting released soon? ha-ha.. J/k

Enjoy him next to you! XO

Oh, I KNOW what you mean about sitting by yourself! My husband is the Bishop too...and has been in 2 Bishoprics before that! I too look forward to the day when he can sit with me during meetings! Thanks for visiting my blog! I have truly enjoyed my visit here!
