A CHRISTMAS POEM

Twas five days before Christmas
and all through the house...
The shopping's NOT done.
I feel like a louse.

The days off from the Emergency Room
were planned to the MAX!
Wrapping presents and cooking
and taking time to relax.

But what occured was NOT in the plan
A trip to the hospital to spend days with my dad.
"What's with that cardiac rhythm?"
Turns out it's not that bad.

So back to work I go,
for three upcoming days.
Still have lots to do,
I'm sure we'll find a way.

What is really the best...
in this crazy time of year,
is loved ones and health
and "Do You Hear What I Hear?"

So things might not be perfect.
Things just might be late.
The chocolates still sit...
please try not to hate.

Things might not be what I wanted.
Things will remain somewhat undone.
But the things that matter most,
Is the Birth of the Son.

Merry CHRISTmas 2011

Fantastic poem!
Life always seems to interrupt our perfectly laid plans. :)
We spent some time at Urgent Care this week (daughter has cracked ribs and sternum from a fall at the tumbling gym...)

Merry Christmas! Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

My thoughts exactly, except the trip to the ER and the sitting chocolates, mines pumpkin chocolate chip bread.

But I will wait patiently for my chocolates *wink, wink*

love you

Just so you know, Toys R Us (at least out here) is open 24 hours a day till Christmas Eve, so if it's the grandkids you need to do shopping for, you can do that any time :)

I have NO excuse to leave so much undone this year. No excuse at all! But here it is, 4 days before Christmas and I still have lots to do.

Take care, my friend and thanks for the reminder of what this season is all about.

Nice poem! I can relate on how things don't go as planned. Remember that Life is what happens in between those plans.

Hang in there and don't worry about all the little stuff that doesn't get done and just enjoy time spent with your family and your dad.

Merry Christmas my friend! Thanks for the joy and laughs your blog posts bring to me!
