The Sounds of Silence

Silence..............
That's what is in our house right now.
We didn't have any of the family here for Christmas except the two unmarried ones. It was quiet.
They all came home for New Years.

I made my kids pose in front of the Christmas tree just like I did when they were little.
They haven't matured much.
Gifts were exchanged.
There was Rock Band.

Rock Band is now back at the house it belongs at......not mine!
There were gifts of snuggies

Kristina will be so proud!

There was A LOT of food, ie. crab legs, prime rib, treats and more treats.
There were a lot of darling grandkids here. I'm not braggin' or anything, but there are 7 of them!

I tried to do a cute picture with all of them in a picture frame....they weren't cooperating too much. I decided that taking pictures of kids was like herding cats.
It's not a perfect photo op, but I think it fits us perfectly!
It snowed!

It was beautiful!
We went sledding!

It was fun
We also had fireworks.

My better half goes out of town tomorrow....again

So it will be just me and this guy.

Oh, ya, and this little SugarBug!

I'm a little sad that the holidays are over. sniffle

Me too. They really just came and went too fast this year.
Glad your family came for New Years. That rocks.

Looks like you've been having lots of fun at your house these days!

I love the Snuggies pictures. I got a pink one too! I think it was one of the most popular gifts this year.

Your grandkids are just too cute! I want to be a grandmother in the worst way! I just keep telling myself "all in due time Linda!"

Happy New Year!

It's so fun to have the house filled with noise--just feels weird when it's quiet again.

Sounds like you all had a wonderful time.

I sure missed playing Rockband at our house this year--didn't want to pay to have Kyle bring it on the plane back from BYU ; )

Oh MY HELLO, that's some serious snow! I don't know how you can stand to be out in it, but it did look fun with all your family together.
Love the snuggies! Great gifts for those cold people in your life. My age keeps me from ever wanting one. I have my own personal heat waves often enough.
Taking pictures of kids IS like herding cats! It's hard as h---! And getting grown kids to cooperation is just as hard sometimes. No respect for the one behind the camera!

Sorry you are alone with such a cold hearted person! I know light a fire and ask him to sit by it with you :)

It really is a mixed bag. I LOVE the holidays when we're in the middle of them, but when it's over, it's over. Although it's hard to go back to work this morning, I guess it's time to get back to normal (whatever that is)
Cute pictures! Sounds like you had fun!

I was sad that it was over too...but then God sent snow...and the superintendent of schools sent a SNOW DAY! Woo Hoo! One more day!

Haha-love the image of herding cats:) Not something I'd ever like to try.

I got a snuggie for Christmas, too! I need to take a picture...

I am so excited! I will be saving the Snuggie pic!

Wow... Crab legs and prime rib? Decadent, lady. I'm jealous. Looks like you had tons of fun and tons of snow! I agree on the 'taking pics of kids' thing... It's not for the faint of heart!

I also feel the sniffles...and we also put our tree away when my better half came home from meetings yesterday. Christmas came and went so fast! I have decided it will never be like it use to be when our children were small and all home for a cozy spiritual Christmas eve. As hard as it is...it is time to embrace our new lives... I loved that your darling little ones pose for pictures like ours! HA!
Your New years sounded yummy and fun! I am glad you can cuddle up in your snuggly with SugarBug until your hubby returns.
gingerly,~♥

Ps Do you know Florence? I asked in an email. My sweet sis managed the stores on 17th and on Hit road in a strip mall. She loved working for them. She has lived with us now for over two years after moving in with 2 of her daughters. They celebrated their 3 Christmas living with us this year.

I know I am kind of sad that Christmas is over too. My last one went back to Hawaii this morning and the schedule started again.
My Christmas decor is still up and I am not really wanting to take it down.
I LOVE that you got snuggies - the leopard one rocks - ha ha. Kristina P. must be so proud!!
Love the window idea for pictures. Did they turn out?
Enjoy the snowman this week :D

Trees down....and everyone headed back to school, work, back to the old grind! That's okay though, lot's of nice things to think about.

Glad you had a good New Years with your family.

oh...have i told you how much i LOVE rock band...now those are some instruments I can play...why did my mother waste so much money on violin lessons??

Your kids and grandkids are CUTE!!!!!

..and that man you'll be spending the next few days with looks cold...maybe the two of you could snuggle up in a snuggie! ;)

Loved seeing your family FUN you had! The photo of the grandkids in the window frame is priceless!

BTW....we have the exact same Leopard Snuggie. I think everyone I know got "Snuggies" for Christmas!

That is awesome that you embraced the snow and went sledding. It seems like we just spent our whole weekend shoveling our driveway twice. We do it all by hand and it was ALOT of work. It is nice to keep moving during the winter months. It sound like we have more snow on the way and so hopefully we can take the kids out sledding one of these next weekends.

SO sorry that Howie is leaving town!! You are amazing and you always have such a great attitude!! Enjoy your silence and have fun reminiscing!

Fun, fun, fun!!!! Love all your pictures!

I didn't get a Snuggie yet. Very jealous of yours, lol!!

How fun that all of your children made it for New Years. WOW - 7 darling grand children. I can't wait for at least one... You totally cracked me up with trying to take all of their pictures at one time. It was a great idea... did it work?

My children rock band at our house - but I don't... I'm not much into the whole game thing.. I love to watch - but that is about all I do. I am amazed at how many people are playing it.

I love the snuggles.. Do you like them? I can't sit and watch TV without a blanket.

It's hard to have your house full of silence after it being so full. Put some rock music on and sing at the top of your lungs!! That will put some noise in your house - LOL!

Our Christmas was all to quiet too. Until my kids came the day after and stayed for a week. Then it was a little more normal. I was just really missing all the family. Sounds like you had a a really wonderful time though. 7 grandkids? Thats wonderful!

Not sure why my blog won't update but I think your best gift were the 7 grandkids. I am years away from any of those lovely experiences but it must be a wonderful to see your good works flourishing through the future generations.

The Rock Band ain't too shabby either = )

Oh what a great post. I do so understand I am sad too the holidays have ended. Sorry your hubby is having to leave again.
Girl your comment left on my site was just too funny. I am here at my daughters and I cracked up loud when I read your comment. Of course I had to share it with Christi and she cracked up along with me. You mentioned you would have to curl up on the floor and suck your thumb. Christi said I imagine that is just what you did to mom without your computer this week. lol
Take care
