THANKFUL

This little guy goes 90 MPH all the time!
Until about two weeks ago.
When his mom noted said his eyes were swelling.
He was tired.
Not quite himself.
A few doctor visits later, they were told he had
"Nephrotic Syndrome"
It could be simple or serious.
My grandma/nurse heart was in my throat.

Today he was at the University of Utah to see
a Pediatric Nephrologist.

I was so thankful to receive this text from my daughter-in-love.

"Prayers have been answered! He has responded well to steroids.
We will doing daily urine samples to test for protein.
Concerned about him catching any virus that would cause a relapse.
For now we are just thankful everything is OK.
Thank you for all your prayers, we are truly blessed."

Ya, feeling blessed and feeling thankful.

I am sure being a nurse brought everything up on radar in your mind. Then the grandma worry kicked in. So glad he is responding well and that it isn't any worse.

Poor kid! I hope everything is okay. What is it exactly? Is it Alports? My family has a hereditary kidney disease that's affected two of my brothers---it's not fun, but they've managed to live pretty great lives with it anyway:)

I had to go look that up. Wow. I am so glad he is responding to steroids! Do you know if this is a permanent condition or if he can grow out of it?

I don't know what that is Tauna, so I will have to google it.
But not matter, ANYTHING that jeprodizes the health of our kids and grandkids is NOT acceptable.
It is very hard to see our loved ones suffer anything........
emotional
or physical

Cuttest little kid for sure. I just want to squeeze him (that's what grandma's do is squeeze, right?)
Miracles are everywhere if we open our eyes to see them.
prayers sent your families way.
and hugs for you

Oh my goodness. How scary. I'm sure being a nurse makes every diagnosis a little more intense for you. So glad all is looking well.

What a blessing!!

When our daughter was 12, the same thing happened to her.
Only .. it turned out to be serious and she had Focal Segmental Glomular Syndrom (sp).

Thus.. the kidney transplant.

I'm so happy for you and for your family that his nephrotic syndrom cleared up.
A huge blessing!!
