Playing in the Dirt

Huge shout out to Willard Bay Gardens in Willard, Utah!
Thank you Barney and Della for our beautiful flowers.
They are very dear friends and were here on Friday because Barney is all famous and everything and on the Advisory Board for the BYU-I Horticulture Department.

Howie and Barney were roommates at Ricks College a trazillion years ago.
They've remained close friends/brothers for all of these years.

(I won't go into detail of their continued immaturity friendship to this day.
I won't mention that they listen to the weirdest music ever produced.Atomic Rooster
Nor will I mention that it's painful to watch two middle-aged men play air guitars.
Nope, I won't mention any of this.)

Anywayz......

They brought so many beautiful flowers and plants!

Della spent hours teaching me how to have a green thumb.
She's creative and I had a blast. It felt so good to have my hands in dirt.

We've had 3 days of beautiful weather!
I hope the cold is OVER until December 1st!

It was great to get some plants from Willard Bay Gardens because there are so many colorful and unusual flowers.

We will baby them all along, play Mozart and feed them steroids and pork rinds so they'll be beautiful by the 9th of July.

(Sleep warmly and grow little plants)

If you live even remotely close to Willard you NEED to go there. You won't be disappointed. The plants are EYE CANDY!

Pork rinds will do the trick! I hope you have no cold weather until December 1st too, but I won't hold my breath.

I love the idea for the way you put the pots! So cute! Seriously?? We NEED good weather for at LEAST 6 more months! I don't need snow until December! I dare you mother nature; bring on some good summer days, or are you chicken...?

Are some of those plants herbs? I love the randomness. So green and gorgeous. We aren't allowed green in AZ, I guess. I hope warm prevails for you. I love how you tuck in the plants for the night. Grow on.

Sometimes I dream about having a garden...and then the reality of life sets in. Definitely liked the askew pots. Never thought about plants adapting to that.

I just have my two little window boxes. I killed pansies about 2 days after planting them, but my violas are strong and healthy!

ok, the balancing pots are phenomenal! ...AND i was just in willard on friday! no lie. that's actually where one of my aunt's was born & raised. when my mom's family moved to brigham city, my uncle met my aunt & they were married there. such a fun area! kudos to your contagious green thumb friend, for such lovely plants. plus, its ok for howie to have such a friend. same thing happens whenever mr LKP gets together with his canadian (together they both managed to BARELY squeak by with passing grades in their sign language class @ BYU-I, which is where they met). love you!

Surprise!!!! Dropped 25 degrees in one hour today. I dashed home to mow my lawn before the next round of rain showed up. Barely got it done. I have flowers that did not survive my trip.

I so wish I had a green thumb, but maybe it isn't my thumbs at all, maybe it's that I don't use pork rinds. Thanks for the tip.

Hope everything is beautiful for July.

Forget the plants--feed me the steroids so I have the energy to run around putting blankets over all my plants because the weather can't figure out that its summer yet!!

Your plants look beautiful!

So THAT's the secret...PORK RINDS.
Here I've been eating them and GROWING, and my poor plants are suffering.
how did those pots stay tilted like that....Or did I just have one to many (tee, hee)

I am sure your yard will look fabulous my dear.

Willard and Perry Utah are the bomb for flowers and produce of all kinds! It is the perfect little oasis for growing things!!

SO happy you had great weather when your friends were here and I can't wait to see the beauty of your yard. Now, if the weather can just decide if it knows it's almost SUMMER and warm up, that would make us all happy!!

SO happy you had a wonderful weekend and I can just picture Howie and his friend rocking out on the guitars!! too funny!

I've missed you! Hope you have a wonderful week!

I drive through Willard on my way to Logan, does that count?
Those are a lot of plants - go YOU!

And pork rinds....what exactly are they? And do people still eat them? In fact, I think I'll go pose this question on FB
