I know that you might be thinking this is going to be a scary post, ya know,
being that I'm an ER nurse and all.
Or maybe,

cuz I take pictures of this:

But no worries.........K?

So before I talk to you about crack we need to sing a song together.
It's gonna be in your head for the entire day.
(And you'll never want to come back here again cuz the song is so

OK, 'nuf singin'. Get it out of your head immediately.

A few weeks ago my twin sister, Gigi posted this recipe on her blog. It's a secret Southern recipe from her dear sweet friend Ella. I read the post, thought it was so cute and thought this little lady was the sweetest little thing to finally allow her secret recipe to be shared with the blog world.
I ALSO thought, "hmmm, weird, a recipe with crackers and chocolate."
Well, I filed the whole thing away in the dark recesses of my brain.

OK and just to clarify, Gigi isn't really my twin sister. I don't even have a sister, BUT if I did, it would be Gigi.
Cuz she hates cilantro.
I loathe cilantro.
And we're the same age.
Gigi's middle name is Arlene.
I have an Aunt Arlene.
So you can see how we must have been separated at birth.
She even calls me her evil twin!
I KNOW! Freaky right?

We haven't met.........yet.
She lives in Georgia.
I live in Idaho.

Anyway, I'm at work and I call Susan, one of my co-workers to beg her to work a shift for me cuz I've had it with healthcare.
(I've been told that I put the HEL in healthcare.)

She happens to mention that her son got called on a mission to Georgia. I laughingly tell her that my "twin sister" lives in Georgia and when he gets there he needs to go find Gigi and bring her soul to salvation.
OK really Gigi doesn't need savin', she's already a Saint.
Susan, my co-worker agrees to work my shift.
But that's beside the point.
Susan then says that she has an aunt that lives in Georgia. (I know......weird!) Susan says that this aunt is like a second mother to her. She goes on to tell me how sassy this aunt is and how much she loves her.
So I tell Susan that I'll email Gigi Arlene and ask if she knows her.
So I do.
And guess what?

Yep, you got it.

Not only does Gigi know Ella, but they've traveled all over together and they party like rock stars all the time!

Gigi emails me with her voice all southern-like and says, "You are a dork. Don't you ever read my blog? Check out my recipe for Ella's crack! You know, the one I posted two days ago? That's her!"
Gigi does a double-eye rollover cuz her twin sister is such a dope.

OK she didn't really smacktalk me but there was a ton of cyber-squealing and "I can't believe its" and stuff!!!!!

I decided I had to make crack in honor of Ella and Gigi Arlene who are friends and neighbors in Georgia.

So Susan (my co-worker) and I could enjoy this treat at work today.

Hi Aunt Ella!!!!!!

Me and Susan and Jaime on CRACK!
Hi Gigi Arlene!!!!!

It's a small world after all.

Okay so I have "It's a Small World" stuck in my head...thankyouforthat.
And you sure know how to have fun!
I kept waiting for a reference to drug-laced goodies ("crack"), and was relieved there was none.
That woulda made it even funnier if you knew/were a twin to a crack-head in Georgia. See? Funnier.
I have family in Georgia--who are actual crackheads...and that ain't no lie.

Kristina P. said...

So, did it live up to it's name? Can I be your long lost cousin's best friend?

Cherie said...

That was a long winding story with many intricate parts and I was beginning to think that you, my friend, were on crack and then WHAMM-O it all made sense in the end.
It definately is a small world!!

Hey, it took me 20 minutes to figure out what that song had to do w/ your crack. Anyway, the light bulb finally went off. DUH.
Crack sounds good. I was expecting to see the other type of crack you have been showing on your blog as of late so, this was a nice surprise.

And here I was hoping for something about crack cocaine. *Slaps forehead*

So, my MIL went on a mission to Georgia - does that count towards the story?

Actually, no. But I love yours!

BTW, I HATE, HATE that song!!

This post just made my day so much better, see it's been a day from hades!!! Including the heat, this morning at 6:00am it was 80* with a heat index of 86*, then this afternoon it was 100* and the heat index was 113* I was in and out of it ALL day long with 2 girls, one dog and one cat (and one Sweetheart for half the day.) He was ready to choke somebody after the first hour with us.(Dog and Cat had to go to two different places.

Any who, back to this adorable post!!! So excited yall made the CRACK! Did you like it? That is the cutest picture of you and Susie and a plate full of Crack! Then it got even better when you held up signs to Ella and me, so sweet! That was fun that she was at work with you that day :)

Of course I had to call Miss Ella and tell her that I emailed her a link to your blog, she just has to see this! She told me that Susie had called her and told her that yall had the crack and were haveing so much fun at work. She hadn't seen the post but she promised to go check it out!!

BTW, the Sweetheart's relative that is in jail is a real Crackhead and it's not the chocolate kind :(

Well I hope yall liked it and will make it again sometime when you need to fill your addiction needs.
Love ya, sweet evil twin!
p.s. pray I survive this heat!!!

It is a very small world. Especially here in the south. But that may just be due to our inbreeding and all.

It's a World of Laughter, a World of Tears... Ugh. Stuck it is!

That is so funny how you guys made that connection. Gigi is coming out to CBC next year! At least that is what she said when we were all posting about it. :)

Saimi said...

Let's see here...You have a twin sister on crack that lives in Georgia with the name of Arlene which is the same name as your second cousin twice removed who loves to cook so you posted her recipe after working all day in the ER with a bunch of nurses singing It's a Small World...

I think I got it! Whew!!So glad I found you on MMB!

Shelle-BlokThoughts said...

I was NOT getting that song stuck in my head, so there was no way I was clicking on that. HOWEVER...although I didn't listen, what do you think is spinning around in my little brain??? AUGH!

I get the biggest kick out of reading your blog! FUNNY!

You're right...SMALL WORLD!! (OH NO!!!)

Mikki said...

It's like six degrees of separation or is it six degrees of Kevin Bacon?
Wow, small world for sure. How was the crack? I'm going to have to try it, it looks so easy!

gigi said...

I sent Mrs. Ella the link to this post and she was so excited! She loved it and said it was just
Dah-lin! And believe me when I say I learned my double eye rollover from this lady, she can do it better than anyone I know!

Ella said that Susan had called her and told her what a hit the recipe was in all of Rexburg. It really did make her day. Thank you for making her feel so special. She's not doing so well lately and this heat is killing us all off slowly, it's deadly.

It definitely is a small world--I LOVE IT. I think many of us would be very surprised to find out the people we know who know people we know (hope that makes sense)

You hate cilantro? I can't even think straight now! I'll comment tomorrow when I'm not in mourning.

Beth at Aunties said...

What a crazy story and from the look of you and your workers you could use a bit of Ella's Crack just to keep you sane! Wait if you were sane in that picture, what do you look like on a Hel healthcare day? You crack me up and I am going for the crack recipe hunt!

I totally LOVE how small this world is! If you have a chance to show the chocolate guru Florence in your life/ your other mom, the post about my sister's wedding, I wonder if she too might do a little tiny cyber squeal:) thankss for the smile~♥

April said...

I didn't see you snorting that just ate it! That's not real it! :)
