TWO WEEKS IN DENVER

I'm finally home after spending two weeks in Denver.

I'm so thankful that I had the time to be there and try to be helpful.
Lynsey is healing well after the C-Section.

We spent a lot of time in the NICU and I am so amazed and impressed with the hospital and staff. I'm so thankful that they are there.

The day after her C Section, a lady came in and offered her a complimentary massage.
She enjoyed that for over an hour!
It was so appreciated and helped her finally get some sleep.

The babies are little Rockstars!
 So very tiny
This picture is in the OR and they are working to stabilize and intubate Lucy.
Lucy was the tiniest at 1 pound 15 ounces.
Over the next 14 days she has lost ounces and gained ounces and was as low as 1 pound 4 ounces.
Finally yesterday she hit 2 pounds 3 ounces!
Lilly was 2 pounds 4 ounces at birth. She had some losses as well. She got as low as 2 pounds 1 ounce.
Yesterday she was up to 2 pounds 11 ounces.

The progress they have made is so incredible and we are so thankful.

This is my wedding ring that Lilly has in her grasp.
Lynsey wanted so much to be able to pick them up.

These were the diapers that they started out with, but were too big.

To say that we are thankful is an understatement.

My brother called Sunday night to ask how the twins were doing.
I told him that we are so amazed at their progress.
I told him they were miracles.
He said to me "sis, your family lives on miracles"
And after the year and a half we have had....
I have to agree.

EARLY MORNING PHONE CALL

This morning at 3:30 Nick called us and told us that Lynsey was having the babies today.

These last 2 months has been "iffy" with these little babies.
Threatened miscarriage, Lynsey with hypertension, babies not growing....

So many things.

Lynsey was put in the hospital a week ago for closer monitoring.
Trying to stop the labor, making sure the babies weren't too stressed.

After a week of trying, labor couldn't be stopped and the stress on mom and babies was too great.

The best option was an emergency C Section.

We immediately packed and headed for Denver.
We received updates all the way and 10 hours later we drove immediately to the hospital.

Meet Lucy.
1 pound 15 ounces.
She's holding my wedding ring.
Trying to put into perspective just how tiny she is.

And this is Lilly.
2 pounds 4 ounces.

They were born at 28 weeks.

So far they are doing ok.
They will be in the NICU for weeks and weeks.

FUN IN THE SUN!

It’s been fun to have grands come since we moved here about 18 months ago.
We have a big yard, bigger house and more things to do.
We had Krew and Kendrix for a couple of days.
We have neighbors that have all sorts of great things for little boys!
Fancy Camero that Krew got to sit in.
Big Army truck to crawl in and around and over!
And airplanes! And they got to go for rides!!!
I think they had a good time!
That night we went to Outback to see our favorite Assistant Manager!
Aunt Candice.....also known as Aunt CandyBar!

I hate being far away from Lynsey.
I miss seeing her every day.

I texted her and told her to send me a picture of the baby bump.

#ZELLA'S TRIBE

Today is National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day

It is a day we have become more familiar with.

Little Leighton Zella received that diagnosis over a year ago.

She is a little fighter and is so in our hearts.

We are proud to be part of Zella's tribe.
She is a miracle and is so loved.

WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS YOUR FRIENDS

They are firefighters and paramedics.

In the ER we work with them closely and I feel like they are the best.

My favorite thing about them.....
 They have a Pipe Brigade
Bagpipes are my absolute favorite thing to listen to.
It gives me the shivers.

And these guys are good.

I begged them to come to the ER on the 17th because they were out and about the town playing.
And they gave us a personal concert in the ambulance bay!

This one

This one......

is a twin of her father.

This photo is them at about the same age.
She goes 90 MPH all the time.

With a grin on her face.
And because she's such a stinker and so dang cute...
Yes, she is just like her dad....
and...
It's a good thing this is her dad.

SPRING SNOW

I know snow that comes in March doesn't last.
But that doesn't mean I like it.
