WAIT! Not yet!!!

I received a phone call from Nate yesterday.
Sara was having contractions.

Wait! Not yet.

Not due till February 10!

Then he called an hour later.

Baby in distress and labor not stopping.
They are doing a stat C-section.

My son sounded so alone. My heart was breaking.

A short time later...

The little warrior princess was born
Initially she was breathing with a little
Bi-pap.

During the night she had to be intubated.
They did a couple of doses of surfactant.

Grandpa and I decided to brave the horrible roads and drive the 4 hours to be there for a moment with our son and other grands.

Beside it was Kendrix's birthday.
We stole the two boys to stay with us in the hotel.
That was fun.

Then this morning got to see the little warrior princess.
Princess Leighton Zella Egan.

Fight on baby girl.
Fight on.

I've done this fight before, almost exactly to the day. Heidi was due February 2 and was born December 3. It was a long 65 days, but medicine is so amazing. Hang tough, Grandma, and I'm sending a few preemie parent prayers to heaven for you all today.

Oh, this gives me chills. I will pray for you and the warrior princess. She looks strong. I so hope everything goes well. I know she has wonderful grandparents. Keep us posted.

Praying to our gracious Lord who knows the love of a mother and the heartbreak when her little one is suffering and struggling - may the hands of our Father keep her warm and safe until she can be placed in the arms of her earthly mother and father and may that be soon! blessings, marlene

Can't hide any longer. I've been following your blog for years. I'm lifting up prayers for this precious little one. I'm also a Grandma! Isn't that the best name ever? :-) Please know that many, that you don't know, are praying for all of you. Sue

How is the little Warrior Princess doing? Sending up more prayers. My gut, praying, is that she is going to be just fine. A sweet little girl, yet SO strong, she is going to give all of you a run for the money....aka...Grandma, Grandpa...."Catch me if you can". :-) God Bless her. Sue
