I SHOULD BE FREAKING OUT...

#4 Child is getting married.
July 9th in the Rexburg Temple.
His sweet little fiance is from California.
California, where the sun always shines.
She wants an outside reception.

(Nice face Cameron, real mature.)

They aren't having a reception or Open House in California.

It's here.
In Iceburg.

In MY BACKYARD!

I have two months to get the sun to shine.

I'm also doing the engagment, prebridal and wedding photos.

I should be freaking out.

I'll wait till I get back from Florida.
Then I'll figure out how to get the sun to do that thing it's supposed to do....

You know....to.....SHINE!

T minus 4 days till the beach and sun!

  3. That will be here before you know it. You are going to do a wonderful job. Freaking out never helps. That day will come and all will be perfect. Enjoy Florida!

And surely, SURELY by July the sun will shine!

  11. I remember watching fireworks in the Rexburg area wrapped in a blanket. But in the daylight, in July, even in the 'burg as you call it, I think you'll be about 75% sure to have sun. Do they have tent rental places with those patio heaters as plan B? I'd have a plan B. But, yes, wait til after Florida. No use ruining that with worry. (That's so not me, but it sounds logical and sensible for "normal" people.)

  13. Will you just send all your decorations, left over food, etc. etc. my way when you're done? Thanks! I'll just put my feet up and not worry about the reception that will take place on August 13th. Every time I have asked Jeanette about what she wants for the reception she would just say, "Let's wait until after graduation to worry about it!" Now she has graduated and there's still no plan in place. Oh well.

I'm so excited for you to go to Florida!!!!!!

I am happy for your sweet son and his fiance' getting married in the temple! HAPPY!

  19. Congratulations!! You're son is SO sweet and I am thrilled that he has found love and happiness!!

Everything always has a way of turning out!! I know you have lots of friends and family around, but I am being completely serious...IF YOU NEED ANY HELP AT ALL WITH ANYTHING, I WOULD LOVE TO HELP!!! Happy to help with baking food, yard work, decorating, etc.... I really mean that!

Right now, just relax and savor the FUN of going to Florida with Howie in 3 short days!! I'm so excited for you.

I can't wait to see photos from your Florida trip and can't wait to see your creativity with the photos you take of your son's engagement and wedding. You are so skilled with a camera!

Hope your Mother's Day is a wonderful, happy day! Wish I could say it will be a sunny day, but alas, it is supposed to rain all day! :-(

  22. I am also from California.

I also wanted an outdoor reception.

We had a torrential downpour in San Diego in JUNE. So, here's to hoping Idaho proves better in July! Fingers crossed!

(but don't worry about it until you get back)

  23. Congratulations to them both.

I hope you have a great time and Florida and are able to REALLY relax while you are there, because you won't be doing much relaxing after that ; )

    Happy Mother's Day.

  25. Oh Tauna, CONGRATS! Let me know if you figure out how to make that darn sun shine. I bet you'll have it figured out by July.

I kept trying to buy DeNae a Diet Coke from you, but she kept buying her own. Over and Over and Over.

    Hee hee

  28. Things like this always work out. Don't stress.

And FLA sounds so perfect right now. It is pouring rain and about 40 degrees. Yuck!

  29. I have a lovely straight jacket and rubber room should you choose to freak--it really does help.

But I think you have the right idea to wait till after the fab trip to warmville---hope you the greatest of times!!!

  30. OH MY GOSH, isn't that exactly how we women think? Beyond all of the things we CAN control, let's add to that the things that are God's! LOVE IT! Congratulations to the boy and the girl and the mother in law to be! Don't worry~I'm really tight with the man upstairs. I'll put in a good word for you. No worries.

  31. Yay for the kids - do you think they rent out the sunshine? Maybe bring some back from Florida?

    :)

  32. Have a back up plan just in case.

I would take up help from Gigi and Kimmie. For reals.

I am SO happy for you! Your headed to the warmth and sun.. kids getting married.. I am so very grateful to read about your blessings right now.

Love you.. and am VERY grateful for your friendship... XO

  33. That sounds like it will be awesome!

  34. Why aren't you freaking out? How do you manage to hold it together?!!!

However, I know you're going to pull it off in grand style, weather and all.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Congrats!!! But yes-an outdoor reception in Idaho-sounds risky indeed. I got married in Chicago, but we had a second reception in Utah where in the summer it rarely rains, it rained.

Good luck!! And can't wait to see the picture you take!!

  36. I wish you could stuff me in a suitcase (a really Large suitcase) and take me to Florida with you.
Take a bunch of mason jars...I know, extra luggage....so you can bottle up some sunshine.

It is still loooooooong coming here. I rejoice for high 50's and low 60's.
Going to Utah next week...hubby coming with. I need my kids to love on. and show Barry a bit of Utah.

  37. Congrats on the wedding. I hope you get the sun to shine! It's not looking so nice right now.

  38. My my...well good luck with all that..and congratulations, she has such cute dimples! :D

  39. How's about this? You go enjoy the Florida sunshine and leave the freaking out to me. I'll water it, feed it and take reeeeallly good care of it, and then pass it right back to you when you're ready. Then you can know that SOMEONE if freaking and worrying about it for you, but you don't need to until you have sufficient vitamin D to handle it all ;)
