I got my new calendar today.
2011 ready to replace 2010.
Ready or not, here it comes.
I'm always filled with:
trepidation
anxiety
excitement
worry
wonder
...when I put up a new calendar.
Dramatic?
Maybe.
I want my family and loved ones to be safe and snuggly.
I don't want trials.
Or sadness.
Or ache.
Because of where I work.
Because of my age.
Because of experiences.
I know that things can change in a heartbeat.
As a New Year approaches........I always take a deep breath and wonder.
Am I ready?
Am I strong enough?
What will those pages on the calendar bring?
I pray for more joy than not.
Strength than weakness.
Peace than hurt.
Life is full and good.
Happy 2011!
Ready or not...I hope 2011 is ready for me!
I hope you have a happy and blessed New Year!! I'm not stressing about 2011....not after surviving 2010 - I can handle whatever comes!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen to all you said Tauna!
ReplyDeleteDang I still need to get a new calender - the one you have is the one I often get also...I did see a funny Maxine one the other day though - hee hee. Then there is also the Fireman calendar!!!! Hey it's good to spice things up (wink!).
Happy New Year!
One more day to go. I had so many things I was going to do. Think I can get them done tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteshoot - I don't have a new calendar yet...
ReplyDeletewhen I do get it I need to turn 1/2 way through and write myself a reminder to breathe... assuming I've made it that far :)
Ditto
ReplyDeletebut it is kinda magical to look at the days on the calendar and wonder what they hold for us.
and Of course 2011 is NOT ready for YOU....are you kidding.
You got to much spunk spit and vinegar..........
We should be the ones to "scare" the calendars....like holy heck, what will "so and so" do to through the earth off it's axis today.
yup, be afraid, very afraid. OF ME and YOU .
oh and speaking of Fireman Calendars....Cherie
MY Mr. Gorgeous was on one once upon a time...boy would I like to get my hands on that one.
Hope you have a fun time ringing in the new year!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe did the exact same thing today. I went trough and added the birthdays and other dates into my new calender and as I put it up, I had the same thoughts as you. I remembered my scary life flight and prayed all would be calm and bright with all of us too. Lets keep our fingers crossed and a prayer always in our hearts. :D
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you're saying. I wish I could be less anxious and more BRING IT ON...but that would mean He might...and I am a coward. You will have a wonderful year, I'm sure of it!
ReplyDeleteBoy isn't that the truth! I guess there is no way around it but to dive in and grab hold!!
ReplyDeleteYou just reminded me I need to hang my new calendar too!!
Happy New Year!!!
Totally with you on all those feelings. Looking ahead and wondering what next year will bring? It's exciting and scary.

I hope you get all that you want.
ReplyDeleteI used to hate changing my calendar for fear of what was to come. Especially if it had been a really good year. So I get your dramatic side!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! Let's hope it's a good one for all of us, and that whatever trials may come, we can overcome them!
You are right... There is ssometgi nerve-wracking about a blank new calendar. And I want the same things you do.

We just need to grab 2011 by the horns and ride 'er out!
ReplyDeleteI can't even stop to think of all that can happen or I won't be able to wake up in the morning!
We ended 2010 with my Dad having a stint put in his artery today. All went well but we've had a couple of scary days. I hope that's the end of that kind of crap and it's just smooth sailing from here on out! (Yeah, right)
P.S. I need a calendar! Maybe if I don't hang a calendar on my wall, it won't happen.
Happy New Year to you, my friend!
Happy New Year! I look forward to another good year of reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura

Me too. Me too. I can't handle thinking about what an entire year might bring. I just try to focus on today!
