I'm {FAMOUS}!!!!!!

I'd like to take a moment to thank my fanz and all those who have supported me through the difficult years......WHAT? Oh sorry, that was my other life.
Well, I didn't realize when I was stogging today (you know blog stalking) that our familly SNUGGIE picture ended up on Kristina's snuggie picture of the week.
And Kristina is DANG famous! She's even a featured speaker at some Blogging Conference thingie. I'm so honored to have been recognized by her sniffle
My dear friend Gigi sent me a congratulatory email.
So it isn't really ME who is famous. It is actually my oldest offspring Lynsey and my darling daughter-in-law Tara. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TARA!!!!

Oops....I have no idea how the picture of Nick and Nate got in there! Sorrynot
Lynsey is the worst blogger ever! But she has a really cute baby girl who just turned two so she's given a free pass.

Doesn't she have the stinkin' cutest nose?
I really thought Kristina was the only person on the planet with a Snuggie Fetish and mocked them, but then I had all the family home for Christmas and lo and behold. My offspring mocked them as well. Two were given in our family White Elephant exchange. WHO KNEW?
OK the real models of Kristina's blog............

Tara and Lynsey. Famous Snuggers!
Now Kristina is actually doing something for the betterment of mankind and is having a Snuggie for Seniors shindig on her blog. I thought her only goal was to destroy the earth. I wasn't aware that in that ice cold heart of hers there was an Olympic torch burning. WHO KNEW?
Head over to Kristina's if you have a desire to participate in the Snuggie for Seniors or if you want to see my cute family modeling their Snuggies!
Thanks Kristina!

OK, THAT is FUNNY

We had two 16 year old girls come in by ambulance last week.
It was lunch time and the nearby high school kids are taking off like crazy to all the nearest fast food joints.
There was a minor fender-bender.
These two little sophomores were a little shaken up but unharmed.
Paula and I took care of them. (Paula is the nicest, sweetest nurse ever!)
A while later Paula comes out to chart and starts giggling. She's trying not to giggle.
I look at her quizzically.
If it's funny it must be shared....that's an unwritten law.
We thrive on funny in the ER.
She says she was doing the typical triage and asking the million questions we ask.
Paula: "are you allergic to any medication"
16 year old: "uh no"
Paula: "have you had any surgeries in the past?"
16 year old: "no"
Paula: "When was you last period?"
16 year old: "Seminary"
OK maybe I'm tired...but it's been a week and I'm still laughing about it.
So, in other news:
I'm sunlight deficient.
I feel a RANT coming on.
Stay tuned for another edition of Ask-A-Nurse
So hurry and be sure to ask your questions...but use caution...you may NOT want to hear the answers.

Pretty Dang {FABULOUS} Recipe

I don't post recipes often cause I feel that there are such fabulous cooks out there that I have nothing to offer.
BUT
This is the yummiest recipe I've ever had.
I've never made French Dip, but I did it on Sunday and it was so good I am making it again today!

Best French Dip Evah!
1 rump roast (mine was about 3-4 pounds)
1 package au jus
1 package of manwich sauce (just the dry stuff)
3-4 C water

Put in crock pot on low for 6-8 hours.
Serve with a Bullio or hard roll.
It was so easy! So tasty! I felt like Martha Stewart or Ree (aka Pioneer Woman)

Give it a try. Hope you like it.

My heart hurts...

My third oldest called me a few moments ago.
He told me of a dear friend that he was priviledged to know in Japan. My son served his mission there.
Jamie was in the Navy stationed in Japan.
Nate (my son) was able to baptize Jamie.
Jamie later went on a mission for the church.
Nate kept in touch.
Jamie was married about a year ago.
My phone call from my son a few moments ago was to tell me that Jamie was killed a few days ago.
My heart is hurting for his little bride and I don't even know her.
All I know is that Jamie was a wonderful man and he treated my missionary son like a wonderful friend.
She shares a beautiful tribute.

I {heart} rubber gloves!

Weird I know.
But rubber gloves turn me into Superwoman!

I have awesome ninja rubber glove skillz!
I {heart} rubber gloves.
Without them...I couldn't do what I do.
I would cease to exist.
I can do anything that normal humans wouldn't even consider doing.(yes, I am implying that I'm abby-normal)

I haven't tried leaping tall buildings with a single bound....yet.
I love rubber gloves
Rubber gloves have helped me get through many unpleasant experiences.
We've been through a lot together.
Much unpleasantness....which I shall refrain from discussing in great detail.....you're welcome.
I only wish my nose were DEAF!

In your best {Napolean Dynamite} voice.....

Say the word "IDIOT!"
Who is the idiot? ME!
The reason:
9:00 church I love 9:00 church
Well, OK it's not totally 9:00 churchs fault. It's late Saturday night fault.
OK, maybe it isn't late Saturday nights fault. I should just accept responsibility for my own actionsbut it's so painful to accept responsibility
Anywayz.........on with the story.
Early church+LONG afternoon nap+

=

I was awake ALL NIGHT LONG!
OK, let's say it again......"IDIOT"
