I may have mentioned a time or two that it's cold here.
And snowy.
I haven't?
No?
Well, it is.
There are a few benefits to living in such a cold wasteland.
We don't have a warm enough growing season to grow big bugs or reptiles.
I think that is very important.
Another reason it's sorta awesome to live here is I have gotten to meet the children of some blog friends who send their children to BYU-I.
Yesterday we had dinner and had DeNae's daughter over.
Vanessa was a delight and didn't run away from the zoo that was our household yesterday.
What a sweet girl.
She also brought a roommate, Kelsey
Kelsey and my daughter-in-law were talking and discovered that one of Kelsey's neighbors from her home town happens to be my daughter-in-laws aunt and uncle.
Small world!
Thanks Vanessa for having dinner with us!
You are a delight!
I have a similar picture from a year ago at the CBC where I met DeNae.
(DeNae is the one with the Diet Coke.)
What darling dinner guests! Lucky you and lucky THEM!
ReplyDeleteSorry it is still so cold! I know you are counting the days until you land in Florida!
I like the part about not warm enough to grow bugs.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was a fun dinner!
I think that's cool that you got to meet the offsprings of those you stalk. I mean, befriend. ;) Enjoy your trip to Florida!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice thing for you to do! Sounds fun:)
ReplyDeleteHow fun for all of you! You are going to love the sunny, warm South!
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree with the less bugs and devil reptiles.. :)
ReplyDeleteWe had a blog friend ove for the weekend as well.. and our house.. yes was a zoo as well!!
My kids were sitting in front of the living room where our company was sleeping and they would come running in to me saying " Mom.. the Dad moved! " ( he was waking up.. ) haha
I also heard: How long are our cousins staying with us? Cousins? bahahaha!
So fun to meet blog friends!!!
ReplyDeleteVanessa has bangs now! Love them.
ReplyDeleteI too am 'SOS', but I also appreciate the lack of reptiles and bugs, just as you do! It's very important to me. Unfortunately, we do seem to be pretty good at growing mosquitos. But I'll take them over alligators or pythons any day!
ReplyDeleteUmmm... be careful when you get to Florida--they have those nasty creepy crawly, slithery things in mass production as we speak.
ReplyDeleteAck!
Sounds like yesterday was so much fun indoors it didn't matter what it was like outdoors!
How cool is that! So fun!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a perk of living near the "I" and one of the things I miss the most. 40 years of students in our home and traveling with them are some of our most cherished memories.
ReplyDeletePS...they loved your zoo. In most cases it feels like home!
I'll have to look you up when my missionary comes home and heads back to school!!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping the snow will be gone by then!
How fun for all of you.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love our weather, I do wish we could kill of some of these large bugs that grow here.
Her grandmother's neice's cousin's uncle is her roommate?? I'm a little confused. ;o) Nice of you to share home life with someone far from...See, there are positives about cold. You don't have scorpions and those pesky iguanas. Yahoo!
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Who doesn't love DeNae's kids?
ReplyDeleteAnd you my friend, are looking HAWT!!!!
How fun!! It is always so much fun to meet blog friends! I am glad I have met you!
ReplyDeleteBTW I love your hair Tauna, darling!
She's as cute as her mom!
ReplyDeleteI'm sending warm wishes your way ('cuz that might be all the warm you get this year!)
How fun! Sounds like you had a great time.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely cook you must be!
ReplyDeleteOh wish I was there.
And I am enjoying my job somewhat but not really. I had a bad weekend. You should watch my mingle.
Some people should NEVER EVER be in the healthcare field.
I'm sorry, you never say to a patient or a resident, "Stop calling me. You call too much."
Geez.
I'm frustrated.
Because I care.
And I would never EVER say that.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope there is a CBC next year so I can see you babe!
I am glad about the no reptiles and big bugs too! What a fun day, bet they loved being in your home for the day, very nice of you! :D
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolute treat! I need to find a reason to head that direction!
ReplyDeleteYou are one funny lady. I love the signs/sayings around your house and the mowing in the snow! I swear this winter has been the neverending story. I have been looking for new jobs for my husband on Monster.com in places with warm climates. A very tempting prospect on Oahu...A girl can dream! :)
ReplyDeleteGuess what? THE SUN CAME OUT TODAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. you are awesome to share your dinner table:)
That is definately a fun perk of living where you do!!
ReplyDeleteI know I might not have met you as soon as I did if I hadn't been there visiting Brit.
Lucky you!
You are their home away from home. Isn't it interesting how we find we're all connected one way or the other?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your bug-free state. :)
That must have been cool.
ReplyDeleteI bet you were a great hostess.
I never get company.
nope
sucks
and I'd be a great hostess
I think it would be very fun to have dinner at your house ; ) How nice of you to have these girls over for dinner.
ReplyDeleteWe may not have a very long growing season, but we still get some pretty good bugs during the summer ; (
You are a treasure, and Vanessa adores you. thank you for "momming" my kid for me!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun - blogland creates a whole new level of friend.
ReplyDeleteI went Ricks. My husband laughs when I claim that I went to BYU and then I show him the alumni letters I get addressed from BYU-I. Haha. It's still cold here too and rainy but not cold enough for heaters. At least it saves on the AC $$ for us too.
Wow, I have read in other Idaho blogger's posts that they just had some snow - we're probably going to be in the mid 80's here today - it was a mild lovely day yesterday!
ReplyDeleteOur spring started mid-february - I am enjoying viewing other's garden's awaken as mine is reaching out for summer!
Hope you have a great day,
Kathy
As if we needed to be told that DeNae's the one with the Diet Coke. What a cute bunch of girls! You're so great to have them over. Makes me love you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for "momming" my niece! :)
So sweet of you to have her over for dinner. What a sweet blog friend you are.
