On accounta I bought 4 dozen more jars!
I also emptied out unrecognizable science-experiement looking old food.
Then I canned more salsa and more tomato soup.
It's THAT good!
I am now done.
I never wanna can again. EVER!
On accounta I forgot to wear gloves when I chopped up the jalepenos.
Ouch!! Have you tried Alo Vera?
ReplyDeleteI'm completely impressed. I've canned just enough to know that it's a lot of work!
You are my hero! I don't blame you. With everything you have canned this year, I think I would be hoping it lasts for an eternity.
ReplyDeleteHope the hands heal quickly :)
ouch!!!! i've only done that once (cut them up with no gloves) and that was enough for me to learn my lesson!
ReplyDeleteOKay... I have done that before...and that Jalapeno stuff soaked into my skin and irritated my eyes for days!
ReplyDeleteI want some canned food.
How much you charge?
WHAT? No gloves? You must have burned all night long! When I was a child, my Dad did that, then he went to the bathroom. Let's just say his hands weren't the only part of him that was burning! Yeah, I was an eaves dropper and over heard him telling my mom.
ReplyDeleteI know. TMI.
Good on ya for doing so much canning!
Should I send my address now or wait until the weekend? Sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteSoak your hands in milk!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to tell you that your comments on my blog always crack me up - so Thank You!
Just think of all that yummy eatin' this winter!
ReplyDeleteUGH. Did your hands burn when you sliced those jalapenos? Ohhh....I'm sorry. YIKES.
ReplyDeleteNote to self: Wear gloves when chopping HOT peppers.
I'm headed your way to EAT this winter! YUM!
Sorry about you forgetting the gloves. I've done that and then when you touch your eyes are mouth - ouch!
ReplyDeleteYou sure are smart to do so much canning! Enjoy!
You are the canning QUEEN! And I yai yai that's smarts, I've made the mistake of rubbing my eyes once while cutting up hot peppers. Bad, very bad!!
ReplyDeleteGood job on the canning girl, I'm impressed!!
Oh, so proud of your canning constitution. I myself like to let people like you overachieve, so as to help out your self esteem~making sure to stay in the no-canning shadows, so as not to steal your thunder.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome.
That must have been painful. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, I am in awe. If my little Elder is ever in your area I know he would LOVE some of your salsa.
You are my hero! On so many levels! I would just die for a taste of that tomato soup!
ReplyDeleteAnd I did love you entries in my contest. I meant that Tammy and Annette were the only ones at the time who had posted something on their blog about the contest. Is that what you meant?
I'm off to pack--ugh...
You are a machine!
ReplyDeleteOuch! Sorry to hear about you forgetting to wear gloves and those peppers doing a bad thing to you. Just look at all you have done, poor hands were vulnerable after all that canning and those bad hot peppers took advantage of that, shame on them. You will just have to eat them all up and get back at them now.
ReplyDeleteYum, yum that salsa and tomato soup is going to really taste good this winter...or even today. Hope your hands are better. Hugs
Sorry about your hands, but those peppers look divine!
ReplyDeleteYou're the canning queen!
ReplyDeleteoh, poor jalapenos hands!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate canning... blah
ReplyDeleteand yet i do it EVERY year :)
Bring a jar for refreshments on our get together, please.
ReplyDeleteOuch! But holy cow I admire you. I have been trying to make just one batch of peach jam for a week now (yes I've had the peaches for that long) and just haven't had time. Ended up freezing the peaches yesterday so that I can have some more time before they rot. I'm terrible! I don't know how you do it.
ReplyDeletelook at you miss thing! I am SO impressed!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I wish I lived closer so I could figure out a way to come over and freeload. Sorry about your hands, though!!!! Try slathering them at night before bedtime with Eucerin and putting your hands in plastic bags covered with socks. It sounds weird, but it really works.
ReplyDeleteso just out of curiosity...do you share this Salsa recipe with local amigas?
ReplyDeleteOoh, ouch. Sorry to hear that. I love salsa though, I grew up on Mexican food and miss my mom's salsa! I like jalapeno jelly too.
ReplyDeleteMan! I thought you already had a full time job!!! I am in awe of your energy.
ReplyDeleteAre you secretly starting a tomato product business and not telling us about it? ;)
ReplyDeleteAll those tomatoes are going to be so good for you. NOW, share your recipes!!!
Ya ya, sure, you'll be at it again next canning season (see, I know nothing about canning, but I'm assuming there's a season for it, right? There is right?)
ReplyDeleteOh goodness. Oh goodness!
ReplyDeleteYou are one of them moms. Who forgets to wear gloves when chopping the jalepenos.
Been there, done that.
Ouch on the peppers!!! I've said it before and I will say it again, I am very impressed. I barely even want to open a can let alone make it myself.
ReplyDeleteOuch! I hate chopping those things. Even with gloves I manage to get it all over me.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing Tauna!! I wish I had your ambition and determination. My canning skills are languishing this year. I'm really jealous of your having 6 days off in a row. Actually, I would settle for at least having a weekend with no obligations.
ReplyDeleteWe tore up carpet and are in the middle of a big remodel project and so I haven't wanted to think about canning and being in a bigger mess than I already am.
Although, I did puree up some plums that my neighbor dropped by and have them drying into fruit leather right now.
OH wait..that's not canning. At least I'm preserving them and not letting them go bad.
BTW...I have a jar of honey I need to drop by sometime. I thought you might like to try it to see if you like it.
Anywho, enjoy your weekend! Just realized I am signed in as Tracy, but this is Kimmie talking
PS...It's amazing how those peppers can be so deadly with burning. And then if you itch your face, or anywhere else, it is miserable. Hope it didn't last too long.
I used to rub jalapeno juice on my son's thumb when he was sucking his thumb.....he sucked them anyway, just burned his pee pee when he'd tinkle. (tee, hee)
ReplyDeleteanyway----------good to be done with the canning,
Connie said "good on ya"
That reminded me of my son who went on a mission to New Zealand, they say that alot there and I STILL LOVE IT when he says that.
so GOOD ON YA
I bow down in honor of your awesome canning skills!
