Chaos...it's an ART FORM

And I am the master
(When Chuck Norris wants to know about chaos, he asks me.)

Saturday I took the day off from my shift in the ER.

All my sons were here to help my hubby paint the outside of our house.
Howie has been home for the entire month of September!
And the projects have been flying!

My immature grown up sons and son-in-law all pitched in and got 'er done!

I'd have photos, but I'm using the ancient computer on accounta my laptop power cord being dead.

Trust me I had to be here for it.
I'm the only one that knows the number to 9-1-1.

And my boys may or may not have put two ladders on a little tiny stick over a stairwell to use it to stand on.
Scary.
I had to leave the area and check out my first-aid kit and read up on "how to extricate stupid boys from the stairwell with their legs tangled in the rungs of a ladder." It was a great textbook...really..

Those boys and their ridiculous antics are the reason that my job as an ER nurse is secure.

I had 5 of my grandkids here.

We did a photoshoot.
Trust me pictures will follow later.
As soon as I get that dang power cord.

I also decided to make strawberry jam...with 5 grandkids around.
Use your imagination to feel the stickiness and the messiness.
It was monumental.

During the worst of the mess a sweet blog friend dropped in! She lives in my town.
Kimmie!
She's a sweetheart.
She brought me some honey to try from a honey farm? honey village?
honey place?
I don't know what a honey business would be, but it is near her home and she just goes there and fills up jars.
More more economical and YUMMY!

So I was embarassed that Kimmie saw the massive mess
but she stayed and visited and was so sweet.

And then she left.
I'm sure that she was very grateful that she was going home to normal and clean and quiet.

My house was clean last week.
Sorry you missed it!
And it's clean now and the jam is in the freezer.
Amen.

can't wait to see the photos from your shoot. hey isn't pc medical still in business? that's where i used to get my replacement laptop power cords. not as cheap as maybe some places online, but man when those things die it's sooooo 911-time! so i didn't have the patience to wait for a new one to show up in the mail. but that's my vice. i know, they won't let me in the pearly gates until i get that patience thing down pat!

Can't wait to see the pictures of the house and the cute grandkids.

I'm sure kimmie had a great visit.

  16. Sounds like a very busy time around your place. I bet that jam is yummy and your house looks great though. Fresh honey is so good and you are right that it is much more economical. Enjoy! Hugs

  17. My husband has kept many an ER nurse employed over the years (like the time he fell off an airplane - who does that?).

    Mmmm...strawberry jam. My fave.

  18. I'm so glad it's not just me that gets in a chaotic mess and have people come over! The good thing about Kimmie is she's so dang nice, she wouldn't judge you at all! (Especially after Pres. Monson's talk)

You're really Wonder Woman to get all that done with so much going on! Sometimes it's more of a rest to go to work!

  19. Dr. Hubby loves to tell me that I "thrive on chaos." He just means I need to clean house...lol.

  20. Many a day have I stood in my parents' front yard, poised to dial 911 as I watch my husband, brothers and father have fun with a truck, a tree, and a chainsaw.

Once, they took out my mom's deck, but we've had no human casualties . . . yet.

What would they do without people like us? You know, the ones with CAUTION?

  21. Ha Ha Actually I think Kimmie said that her house is under construction too - they are putting in their wood floor maybe???
That is funny - See my painter wasn't the only one painting in precarious positions!! Glad they got it done!!
How on earth did you keep 5 grandkids out of the paint and the strawberries ???
    "SUPER GRANDMA!!!"

  22. What is it with ya'll and ladders??!! You are scaring me!

Who said --if you come to see me, come any time
if you come to see my house--make an appointment....?

    Anyway, I think its true.

And yum--I love freezer jam, all I have is peach butter and dried pears so far--you go girl!

  23. I'm glad that the boys got a lot done with your house. I've been doing little things with the house, one at a time. Ahh.

  24. trust me, if I came to visit you I wouldn't care what your house looked like. I always tell my friends,
"if you wanna see how good a housecleaner I am, call before coming over! but if you just wanna visit, come on by!"
bet the grandkids had a blast!

  26. That just sounds like a fabuloso time to me! Man!

I had to giggle at the strawberry jam reference -- because I credit YOU for teaching, or at least motivating me, to make strawberry jam for the first time. (Although I think you're crazy that you don't like the chunks in it. Whateva...)

P.S. I miss you like the peanut butter misses the jam.... Since you made the jam and are all sweet and stuff, I guess I'll hafta be the PB, all fattening and stuff. Humph!

  27. Mmm fresh honey from a farm?
    Now I WANT some!
Glad you had an eventful weekend!
    Glad there was no injuries...

  28. Can't wait for the pictures. I'm visualizing the mess, chaos.......and it's scarring me. Did you have some homemade bread to go with the Honey and Jam.

Picture this: when I lived in Utah , THIS is how I cleaned the outside of my over the sink kitchen window.
It was right over the stairs going down to the yard. I'd straddle both sides of the stair rails...carefully balance myself, then wash the window. Getting down was harder.
It is sheer luck I didn't break a tail bone with a fall.

so I totally relate to the whole ladder stair well thing.
    smart boys

  29. Hmmm... I know we have honey in the food storage... I think I have to break into it... NOW!!

Yes, boys will keep your job secure, but I've known plenty of girls that will help it along even further. LOL! Oh yeah... I was one of them... walking across the top bar of the swing set almost giving my grandmother a heart attack at 2 yrs old. My mom just said, "Oh momma, she does that all the time!" HAH!

You are a BRAVE woman taking on that task with that money young'uns around!

"My house was clean last week. Sorry you missed it." Oh yes, I think I need that in vinyl letters on my WALL!! LOL!!

  30. LOL I love how your crazy boys are the reason you have a secure job in the ER!

And the way you worked Chuck Norris into your post? Brilliant! :)

  32. Dear sweet Tauna this post had me laughing really hard while trying to eat a bowl of frosted flakes. Laughing and trying to keep cereal in your mouth and not on the keyboard was a challenge with your writing. lol
Sounds like a day you will long remember but gosh look at all that you have done now and no phone calls to 911.
Missed you and glad I came by today
    Love
    Maggie
