Attempting to make the perfect dill pickle.
Crispy and tart.
Having a hard time with the crispy.
This is the last year I will try dill pickles.
(I say that every year)
10 pints of Amish coleslaw.
(Amish coleslaw is crispy and YUMMY)
I love canning.
I know it's not some people's deal.
But it is a big deal to me.
There's nothing like seeing those gleaming full jars.
My own grocery store!
Holy Cow! :)
ReplyDeleteYou never cease to amaze me with your canning. I have yet to can anything.
ReplyDeleteI am very impressed and want to raid your pantry!
Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI used to do an awful lot of canning and preserves but not lately. I make pickles for my husband and that's it.
I admire you. I don't pressure cook because I'm terribly afraid the canner is going to explode in my kitchen. It's irrational, I know.
ReplyDeleteDill pickles are my fave! I want to grow dill in my grass/garden space because I just like picking the dill and smelling it. It's irrational. I know.
That is really awesome! I salute you!
ReplyDeleteI love that you do this! I saw your haul last year and was seriously impressed. I enjoy it too, but the bounty starts about the same time as school :(
ReplyDeleteMaybe you'd be so kind as to share your favorite recipes?
I have canned a little bit and loved doing it. You feel so. . . . homey and wonderful. My favorite thing was dill pickles. They were always so much better than the stores.
ReplyDeleteI remember all the pretties you canned last year. Best wishes with the perfect pickle!
ReplyDeleteI bow to you. I haven't canned in years. BUT ONCE UPON A TIME.....I had jars and jars of lucious stuff that I liked to stand back and admire.
ReplyDeleteIt all tastes so much better then store bought stuff.
miss ya
When you find the perfect recipe for crispy dills, please share! I have given up on them completely!
ReplyDeleteNothing makes me feel better than to see my shelves lined with yummies from the garden!!
Happy canning!
I think I've told you before, but I'm jealous. I grew up canning with my Mom and I loved all the bottles lined up in the basement storage room. For some reason, I just can't get into it...I want to. You do a great job. I'm impressed and I'm glad you like it!:)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have the slaw recipe - will you share? blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteYour canning goods always look so yummy and beautiful. Reading your posts makes canning sound like fun but for me it is a hot, hard job. I enjoy the fruits of others labor though. Kudos to you sweet Tauna for a job well done! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLooking at your work makes me tired! What is "Amish" coleslaw? and you really can it?
ReplyDeletePlease dear friend, share your Amish Coleslaw recipe with us!
