So sorry about your schedule. I know it is so very hard to be apart from family during holidays. Having recently visited the hospital, I sure am thankful for nurses and the job they do.
I totally understand. My brother-in-law is a nurse and he is a single guy so he usually ends up working every single holiday and is usually happy to do it so someone with a young family can have the time off. I agree with Maple Lane's comment...nurses are awesome and having recently been in the hospital for surgery (last May) I think nurses are even MORE AWESOME than I used to! Enjoy the week ahead.
Nurses are truly gifts from God to those who need them, but serving in that way has to be so very hard. I'm glad that's not a gift God gave me. :) Thank you for all that you do. blessings, marlene
I do like my earlier shift, but I have to work holdays too! Although, I do get two days off at some point in the week if I work a holiday, so it's not all bad.
One of my best friends is the head nurse of our ER. She always has to work too and I always feel bad for her. But I'm sure grateful for the sacrifices nurses make! You take care of the rest of us! Sorry you have to work on Christmas and Thanksgiving... :(

Yep, I've been all consumed 'round here all summer and I'm havin' trouble climbin' out but surly to goodness as the weather cools I can find the time to blog again. I miss it and ya'll soooo much.
We're beginin' harvest here on the Ponderosa so hopefully.....

Hi honey Gosh I am so sorry your schedule stinks. I so remember all the holidays I missed while babysitting the guys in prison. lol The world is such a better place though having you as a Nurse. I know that doesn't help much when your working holidays. Thanks sweetie for coming by and saying hello. I so appreciate you. Christi and I were so lucky to have gotten to take the trip we did. As expensive as it turned out to be I am sure it will be 50 years before I can take another big one. lol Love ya Maggie
What a bummer. Can't they rotate Xmas and Thanksgiving? If you work one, you get the other off? However, I agree with you about being grateful for the job. Times are tough.

Ugh! I'm so sorry! I hope you and your family can do wonderful festivities either before or after your work shift! We did that the year my son was returning from his mission soon after New Year's Day - we kept all the presents under the Christmas tree until about 10 days after Christmas! My younger two kids thought it would kill them, but when we DID celebrate, it was just as magical as if it were on the real day!
