I'm home.
It feels good.
Jet Lag.
It's a real thing.
Who knew?
Things that I brought back from Florida:
SAND from South Beach. Oh, yes I did.
OCEAN from South Beach. (see the teeny container with ocean and sand.)
SEASHELLS from South Beach and Ft. Lauderdale Beach.
PALM TREE BARK
My plan is to plant all of the above items in my garden and watch it grow.
(I can dream, right?)
Alligator skin. I'll spare the pictures of the peeling shoulders. You're welcome.
Digital Photography Book.
The BEST book on photography I've ever read.
Easier to understand than the two classes I've taken.
I spent some quality time with my camera when I wasn't working on my alligator skin.
Things I learned in Florida:
I don't have enough camera equipment.
I will NEVER understand dental floss swimwear.
Never.
(Again, I will spare you the pictures.
I'm all about comfort and that ain't it.
My better half completes the business trip and comes home today.
It will be so good to have him home. (For two whole days.)
I shouldn't be the only one to be freezing right now.
Well, I must get the book on Digital Photography. You KNOW I can use it. The books I got from the library were a joke. They were published in 2002 and even idiots and dummies know things have changed since then.
ReplyDeleteI love your little stash. I brought back some things like that and put 'em in a shadow box to remember the time by. It's a thought. You know how cold it is there--those things from Florida won't grow in Idaho, I'm here to tell you. Love your post. I smile. Have a nice weekend with husband. Bundle up!
Glad to hear the trip was everything you hoped for and more. R&R and Sun is important and it sounds like that's exactly what you wanted. Love all the stuff you brough home. Sorry you came home to cold weather. But the rest will carry you a long way.
ReplyDeleteLove ya
I hope you bring some of that weather with you!
ReplyDeleteI hope you bring some of that weather with you!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how your beach garden grows! When it does I'm sure you'll be first on the scene taking pictures with your camera!!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you were saying you didn't understand dental floss- then I kept reading :). Right there with ya!
ReplyDeleteI am a self taught photographer and a lot of what I learned came from books.
Glad you had a great trip
Is it really still freezing there!! This is the weirdest spring ever!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home. It's sounded lovely!
Those books were recommended by my teachers. Scott Kelby has 2 more books that go along with this one. I wonder if they are as good??
ReplyDeleteI love your souvenirS I hope that garden will grow before that July wedding reception :)
Yeah, enjoy your cold weekend with the Howard.
LOVED the beach garden idea. Maybe if you plant a string bikini it will grow the rest of the suit?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone ever really have enough photography equipment? I don't think so. But I am always on the lookout for a good book so will have to get that one...
I feel your weather pain, just enough sunny days to taunt us into believing in Spring before it slams us back into misery...
Welcome home. So glad you had such a wonderful get away.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on the digital camera book.
Welcome home.
ReplyDeleteI too must get that book THEN I would have to get the camera to go with it. Good idea!
Glad you had fun
Glad you made it home safely. I love your treasures from FL. My idea of a comfy swimsuit (for my body) is a long-sleeved, turtleneck!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you enjoyed the visit and I hope hubby has a safe trip too and that you enjoy your time together.
At least when he gets home, he'll keep you warm!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were able to go, even if you did get some alligator skin!
Jet lag is a real thing. It took about a week to feel normal after my trip to China!
Welcome home! I'll have to look for that book. I have lots to learn. Glad you and your guy had a great trip together!
ReplyDeleteIs that a cetrifuge tube with your sea and sand? That is AWESOME!
ReplyDeletePlease let me know after you plant all that if it grows..... : )
Looks like perfect things to bring home from such a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great book. I still need to take my photography class.
Hope your weather is good.
Welcome Home! It looks like a FUN trip!
ReplyDeleteI will let you know if I end up in your neck of the woods! I hope I do!
Thanks for visiting!
Brenda
Glad your home and enjoyed some
ReplyDeletesun. . .
Now your gonna have to put your flip flops away and get your wellies out and start working
in the yard!
The Party is over!
sj.
Dental floss swim wear...that is so funny and it even sounds like it hurts! :D
ReplyDeleteWait, were you WEARING the dental floss swimwear, or just photographing it? Or both?!? Inquiring minds want to know. ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back, safe and sound. Just wish it was a little warmer for you in Idaho, though! At least you had a good thaw while it lasted.
Welome back to Idaho! You won't find too many hot bodies here in dental floss suits, but you are among warm hearts in knee boots!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a chance to collect some sweet memories and fun reminders. Where did you find your book?
Welcome Home!
ReplyDeleteThose shells are pretty, particularly the purplish looking one.
Glad you'll have your honey home to warm you up, even if it's just for a short spell.
Congrats on making it home safe, hope it warms up soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're back safe & sound!! Sounds like you had a fabulous trip...even if you're freezing again, lol. Is it really still cold where you are???
ReplyDeleteHugs!
So glad you had fun! What a happy thing to bring "the beach' home with you.
ReplyDeleteHope it warms up in the burg soon!!
P.S. Dental Floss beach wear - Blahhhhhhh!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that your trip went well and that you had a great time in the sun. I was hoping the weather would be pretty for you while you were there.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your plans for your treasures you brought back with you. If anyone can make them grow it would be you.
Hope your having a great weekend
Love
Maggie
My kids and I love to laugh at people and their choices of beachwear! Yes, we are horrible people:)
ReplyDeleteYou gotta have souvenirs! I have never brought back sand and water.

ReplyDeleteI'm all about the alligator skin too! I love all the special treasures you brought back. When we went to Florida last year, I ended up with Mickey ears. I would have rather sand from the beach.
ReplyDeleteJet Lag is really real. I have to give Luvpilot a day to recoup every time he goes somewhere.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time!
